AppHaze Limited ("we," "our," or "us") operates the VoiceZap mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.

Our Privacy Commitment

Your recordings stay on your device or your iCloud. VoiceZap is designed with privacy at its core. Audio recordings are stored locally on your device or synced to your personal iCloud account. We do not store your recordings or transcripts on our servers.

How Transcription Works

VoiceZap uses OpenAI's transcription service to convert your audio recordings to text. When you request a transcript:

• Your audio is sent to OpenAI for processing
• OpenAI returns the transcript to your device
• The transcript is stored locally on your device or in your iCloud
• We do not store, access, or retain your audio or transcripts on our servers

Information We Collect

VoiceZap collects minimal data required for billing:

• Request counts for transcription and AI features (for usage-based billing)

This data is used solely for billing purposes and does not include any content from your recordings or transcripts.

Information We Do Not Collect

VoiceZap does not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your audio recordings
• Your transcripts or summaries
• Content of your meetings, lectures, or conversations
• Personal identification information
• Location data

Device Permissions

VoiceZap requires access to your microphone to function. This permission is used solely to:

• Record audio when you tap the record button
• Capture meetings, lectures, interviews, and other audio you choose to record

VoiceZap may also request access to iCloud for syncing your recordings and transcripts across your devices. This sync happens directly between your device and your personal iCloud account - we do not have access to your iCloud data.

Important: If you deny microphone access, VoiceZap will not be able to record audio. You can manage these permissions in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

Local Storage

The following data is stored on your device or your iCloud:

• Audio recordings you create
• Transcripts generated from your recordings
• AI-generated summaries and action items
• Your notes and annotations
• App preferences and settings

This data remains under your control. You can delete recordings and transcripts at any time within the app.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to collect anonymous, aggregated analytics data to improve app performance and user experience. Firebase Analytics collects:

• App usage statistics (features used, session duration)
• Crash reports and error logs
• Device information (device type, iOS version, app version)
• General location data (country/region level, not precise location)

Important: Firebase Analytics does NOT collect:

• Your audio recordings
• Your transcripts or meeting content
• Personal identification information
• Precise location data

This data is collected anonymously and aggregated. You can opt out of analytics through your device settings or by contacting us. For more information about how Google uses data, please visit Google's Privacy Policy.

In-App Purchases

If you make in-app purchases, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for information about how they handle purchase data.

Third-Party Services

VoiceZap integrates with the following third-party services:

OpenAI

We use OpenAI for transcription and AI features. When you use these features:

• Audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription
• Transcripts may be processed for summaries and action items
• We do not store this data on our servers

Singular

We use Singular for mobile attribution and analytics. Singular may collect:

• Device identifiers (such as advertising ID)
• App usage data
• Device information (device type, operating system)
• General location data (country/region level)

Important: Singular does NOT have access to:

• Your audio recordings
• Your transcripts or meeting content
• Personal identification information
• Precise location data

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase Analytics as described in the Analytics section above. Firebase is provided by Google. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

No Recording Access: None of these third-party services (except OpenAI for transcription when you request it) have access to your audio recordings or transcripts.

Data Security

Your recordings and data stored on your device are protected by your device's built-in security features, including:

• Device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
• iOS encryption
• App sandboxing
• iCloud encryption (for synced data)

Children's Privacy

VoiceZap does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app stores recordings locally and does not transmit personal data to our servers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can request information about what data we collect through analytics services
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of analytics data collection through your device settings or by contacting us
• Deletion: You can request deletion of analytics data by contacting us at hello@voicezap.app
• Control: Your recordings and transcripts remain entirely under your control on your device and iCloud

Recording Consent Disclaimer

Important Warning: VoiceZap provides tools to help you record audio. However:

• You are solely responsible for obtaining consent from all parties before recording
• Recording laws vary by jurisdiction - some require all-party consent, others require single-party consent
• You must comply with all applicable laws regarding audio recording in your jurisdiction
• We are not responsible for any legal issues arising from your use of the recording features
• You should inform meeting participants that recording is taking place where required by law

By using VoiceZap's recording features, you acknowledge that you understand these requirements and accept full responsibility for compliance with applicable recording laws.
